Very Into Matcha
September 1 // à la Sarah Kurdt
Hi Cu-Teas! Don’t get me wrong, I love coffee. However, I like to switch things up and sometimes do matcha for a few weeks at a time. Matcha has 70 mg of caffeine, while coffee has about 140 mg. It is a much “gentler” caffeine buzz and tastes like really strong green tea. (Matcha is also great for an afternoon pick-me-up!)
What is matcha? Matcha is a finely ground green powder which is actually the entire tea leaf (so you are getting all the nutritious benefits) Matcha is chock full of antioxidants, boosts brain health, and has even been known to help with weight loss.
There are tons of matcha powder brands out there - but my favorite brands are Encha, Matcha Love, & MatchaBar.
I whisk 1 teaspoon of matcha powder with 4 oz of hot water, and top off the rest of the mug with steamed oat milk or almond milk. (I am very attached to my milk frother - it is a game changer!) Feel free to sweeten your latte with honey or coconut sugar & enjoy.
Comment below if you are a matcha fan. Can’t wait to hear! Xx.
