The past six months I have had a severe case of cabin fever. It’s not easy being cooped up at home all the time. I have also been trying to strictly budget my money and hold off any big purchases for our home. Instead I’ve found that small pick me ups are a good way to brighten up our home and mood.

Flower Arrangements D.I.Y Style

I love fresh flowers and have absolutely adored going to the local flower market and putting together my own arrangements. Buying by the stem is much cheaper than purchasing a bouquet and you can add your own creative flair. All of the bouquets I have made have been $15 or under and generally last over a week! It’s such a nice touch. You can also go thrifting for fun and unique vases. If you’re local to Richmond Vogue Flowers has a unique and always changing selection of flowers by the stem.

Diffuse It

Buying a diffuser was a game changer for me. Not only does it look cute on my entry way table but it is a total mood changer. I make it part of my morning ritual to start the diffuser along with my coffee. I love warm citrusy scents, which tend to bring positive and productive energy to your space.

Here’s my diffuser pictured from Target and fave essential oil.

Shower Refresh

Hang a tropical leaf from your shower head with twine and vacay spa vibes will await. I feel this is such a fun way to up your shower self care experience. Eucalyptus is also a great option and will last longer. I got this from Vogue Flowers in Richmond.

Get Artsy

Art is one of my favorite ways to glam up a space. My mom created these custom watercolors based on some inspiration photos I found. Why not try an art project? It’s so gratifying to see your vision come to life. If you’re like me and not naturally gifted tracing paper can work wonders!

Plants, Plants & Plants

Plants do SO much for a home. They bring it to life, I mean literally, and there are so many fun ways to decorate with them. I love how they add texture and color to any space. I absolutely adore Plant Bar, where they allow you to pick your pot and plant. They have so many cute and trendy options.
