ILIA Beauty: Worth the Hype?

The ILIA Beauty brand is a stand-out line on social media as most of us continue to fill our beauty cabinets with more and more “clean products." I wanted to try their most popular products myself… and it turns out, they are worth the hype.

ILIA Beauty was founded in 2011. Their products are created with clean ingredients and wrapped in sustainable packaging. A lot of their makeup has active skincare ingredients in them, so they are working double duty. They are a little expensive, but seemed comparable to my usual Sephora shopping cart.

Below are the 3 products I tried out myself:

Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 (shade Tulum)

This super lightweight formula goes on wet and slowly absorbs into your skin. Be patient! I love how it has a light, natural looking coverage, and then I can add concealer anywhere that needs some extra love. P.S. it has an odd serum/sunscreen smell, but it goes away after it absorbs.

Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment (shade Before Today)

This is a dewy liquid formula that can be used on lips & cheeks, but dries matte. The mauve color I have is very sheer - great for a natural, flushed aesthetic. I prefer using this on my cheeks only, because I found the matte finish got a little dry/cakey on my lips. (Hey, it’s also January.)

Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara (shade Black)

Let me start off by saying I have tried A LOT of clean mascaras, and this is the only one I can vouch for. I find other brands leave me with raccoon eyes after a couple hours. The Ilia mascara is lengthening and light. It is the perfect everyday product and has beeswax which is nourishing for your lashes. (Also, this formula has not bothered my contacts. A huge win in my book.)
