July Insight: Engage
July 22 // à la Sarah Kurdt
Let’s continue to educate ourselves about the racism that is not only touching America, but also having a global effect. This week’s Insight post is for our hands-on learners. See below for ways to get engaged, informed, and active in the movement against racism.
Support Black-Owned Businesses We love Golde, Briogeo, La Botica, and June Baby Granola. This is an amazing way to celebrate black culture, try new products, and work on closing the racial wealth gap by contributing dollars to these diverse businesses.
Take An Online Course Yale is offering their African American History: From Emancipation to Present course online for free. They recorded the actual course and made it available online for the public.
Add Diversity To Your Social Media Go outside your comfort zone and follow some diverse accounts. Supporting influencers of all races is a great way to educate yourself and show your support. We love @glowmaven, @megagirl, and @sweetpotatosoul. (P.S. @megagirl AKA Megan O’Neill is the Senior Beauty Editor at Goop. She just published a really interesting article called What Is A White Black Girl. Read it!)
Stay Engaged and Stay Peachy. Xx.
