Houseplants are in vogue right now. (I guess they have always been, but millennials are really embracing the trend.) Plants not only brighten up your surroundings, but they personally lift my mood. I have been learning more about the care and benefits of having plants in your home (Fig Tree “Figgy” R.I.P, I’m sorry I over watered you) and wanted to share.

Some benefits include -

  • Boost mood, concentration and productivity. Nature has such wonderful powers, doesn’t it?

  • They clean your air by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity and producing oxygen.  The cutest mini air purifiers money can buy.

  • They can add privacy, fill up an empty shelf and absorb sound. The triple threat of indoor decor.

My favorite plants are listed below, but feel free to be inspired and try out different kinds according to your environment and tastes. The varieties below are the easy kids. Water them when the soil dries out, and keep them in a fairly sunny spot.

Spider Plant

Neon Pothos

Wavy Fern

Begonia

Where should you get these plants? Etsy, The Sill and UrbanStems are great online resources. You can also visit your local gardening or hardware store and check out their selection.

Still feeling like you have a brown thumb? Try picking up some inexpensive fresh flowers at the grocery store to liven up your space and get the nature vibe indoors.

Oh, hot tip - Giving a cute houseplant is the BEST housewarming present there is.

Comment below if you have any houseplant TLC advice! I’d love to hear. Xx.
