Life of a Bookworm

Reading is one of my all time favorite hobbies. I love researching the books beforehand, getting engrossed in the story, and then listening to interviews or podcasts with the author afterwards. One of my favorite ways to connect with other women is to trade books back and forth. It is such a small and meaningful gift, and an organic way to have to check-in with each other.

I tend to gravitate toward fiction or memoirs, but have been expanding my horizon by reading non-fiction such as White Fragility and How To Change Your Mind.

I had gotten in the habit of buying books for $18 and keeping the copies in my room in stacks (doubling as decor.) In an effort to save money in the long run, I invested in a Kindle Paperwhite and downloaded the Libby app. The Libby app links to your library card and lets you borrow books (and audiobooks) for free. The downside is the long wait list for hot titles, so sometimes I do still treat myself to a trip to the bookstore!

I probably read about a book a month, and sometimes two at a time (if one is really heavy, I like to switch back and forth.) I’m currently reading Luster, and just finished Big Friendship. (Highly recommend both, by the way!)

I also recently started using a Goodreads to keep track of what I am reading. It is so fun to rate the book (1-5 stars) and see what other people are saying about it! The app gives you recommendations on what to read next, and similar authors to the authors you already know and love.

Below are some of my all time favorite reads. Please let me know your favorite book below, and I’ll add it to my list! Xx.
